December at your library

Food For Fines - During the month of December, you can pay your current overdue fines by donating a non-perishable food item.

An Evening with Duke Ellington - Thursday, December 6, 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Riverside Branch Library. This program will explore the career of Ellington and his fellow musicians from his days at the Cotton Club in the 1920s and his stunning achievements from 1938-1941, to his triumphant "comeback" at the 1956 Newport Jazz Festival and his final creative surge in the 1960s. We will listen to numerous examples from each of these periods. The presenter, Ron Dufour, is Professor and former chair of the History Department at Rhode Island College. He has published numerous biographical essays on jazz musicians.

Santa Visits Weaver Library - Thursday December 13 from 3 to 5pm. Bring your camera to take a picture with Santa.
